2018 - The Travelling Show!

Já estamos no fim do ano???? A sério??? Pois, eu aqui no blog vou-lhe chamar outro nome, será o meu Travelling Show!! Como na música do Elton John "Your Song", ele canta que "é um homem que faz poções num show itinerante" - esse homem sou eu, pois claro!!!

Are we at the end of the year ???? Seriously??? So I have to do what is called and, that we all do on blogs at this time of year, The Best of the Year. Well, here in my the blog I will call it another name, it will be my Traveling Show !! As in Elton John's song "Your Song," he sings "he's a man who makes potions in a traveling show" - this man is me, of course !!! During the year 2018 I made many magic potions - the posts - in this blog !! I hope you were delighted with my show !!!
3 - One Rule - FNAC Coimbra

It's also at this time of year that the resolutions are made for the next year, I'm already imagining the loads of posts on blogs about this subject, just like that: "I'm going to read 500 thousand books, I'm going to make a inscription in the gymnasium ...you read well one inscription, yes because in February we no longer remember what we wrote at this time!! And so that endless list of unresolvable resolutions continues. I decided not to make a list!! Just for what??? The tarot card readers say "you have to wear blue panties", the result? Naw!! The Brazilians Tarot Card readers say "it has to be in white panties", you wear white, nope and, we arrive at the end of the year and we don't win the lotary ticket!! So this year I decided that no resolutions for next year. I do the general strike!
3 - The Golden Hour - Museum Machado de Castro

I leave you my 2018 magic potions to read and review, I chose the posts that were photographed in Coimbra, city that is my inspirational muse to whom I dedicate the Elton John song. When in the end he says "this song is for you New York" imagine that he is saying Coimbra, it's the song that I dedicate to Coimbra !!! Be happy in 2019, with or without blue ... panties!!!

Look Nº 402 - A Christmas Carol!

This year I prepared you a different surprise. I'll give you as a gift a Christmas Carol, its a short story I promisse. That's right, but don't think it's a kids tale. No. It's a tale for the modern families of the 21st century. Christmas is the time of family reunion. But how are the families of our time? What kind of relationships do people establish with each other?

We know that modern families can be made up of two fathers, two mothers, for people who only come together without any legal relationship. One thing is certain, the concept of family evolves and it's very different today. Consequently also the links established are different. So let's get to the point or to the tale!
Tadinho do outro!!!

Oh! don't expect a common tale, here the baby Jesus writes straight with crooked line  !!! Okay, now you know that I'm making the personification of the baby Jesus of the 21st century, and he is lying on some more modern and cute straws! And he has clothes! Poor little one...I mean the other one!!! I hope this tale crosses transversally in your consciousness, a kind of thorn in your head. Oh that is in Easter sorry!!!

 💘💘💘💘💘💘💘

  Transversalities or The Other One

It was time for us to say goodbye, as usual we had breakfast in the room, I didn't eat anything, I never ate anything, I hated good-byes, while you were getting ready, I looked at the newspaper that the bellboy bring us, he already knows your habits. We embraced each other. You smiled at me, and in the perfection of the moment our eyes met and I saw the imperfection of our lives.
Celia: When are you going to tell her?
Andrew: I don't know ... I know she knows. It's impossible not to know, I think she prefers to ignore it, but let's not talk about it now.
Celia: And when do we talk?
Andrew: We promise not to talk about it ...
FIM
 💘💘💘💘💘💘💘

And so we stood silently in each other's arms.
Andrew: ... and what about Paul?
Celia: He's in a congress, lately he's going to many congresses, yesterday he went at home, picked up the suitcase, the ticket, and left for Venice, do you believe? On Christmas Eve and he have a congress in Venice?
      Andrew: Was it with her?
      Celia: No.
Andrew: He went alone, I don't believe it !!
      Celia: He has other one!

The End

Já sabem a lengalenga toda: Muita paz, amor, amizade, saúde, prendinhas no sapatinho and so on, and so on... e, beijinhos do menino Jaasus ahahahah!!!
💘💘💘💘💘💘💘

As you know, or you must, my stories always have a soundtrack, this is no exception. Let's say that the baby Jesus just born and someone told him this story about the relationships of some possible fathers of the 21 st century, he has no choice but to sing this song, so do the favor of hearing what the baby Jesus says to his mother, the Virgin Mary and what was is reaction, it's in the Queen Bohemian Rhapsody music and try to understand what she answers to baby Jesus in face of this whole story and why she says to baby Jesus not to do that to her, curious? I think they have all run out of the Christmas Crib!!! Now I'm going to be excommunicated person!!!!!.. I hope you enjoyed this Christmas Carol out of the box !!

You know the mumbo jumbo: Much peace, love, friendship, health, and hope that Santa will bring you many stocking stuffer, and so on ... Kisses from the baby Jesus ahahahah !!

Look Nº 401 - The Powerful Policy of Truth

I'm back! I hope you have understood my silence, I know there are many girls worried! I started doing the treatment for my illness, but it's still too early to talk about the effectiveness of the treatment.

This post is inspired by the lyrics of Depeche Mode's Policy of Truth song, I leave the video at the end of the post, you have to understand how powerful is the message of this song, it was with it that I tried to understand what happened in my life in this time I was absent from the blog and all my life that was a Stepping Stones (post here), and how I turn every stone into wisdom.

I chose as scenario for this photo shoot a square in Coimbra called Patio of the Inquisition, inside these buildings walls many people have been judged. And, why this place? As you know the Inquisition was a Court, it doesn't matter now what the purpose of this Court is, but imagine that my Judge is Dave Gahan the Depeche Mode lead singer and I stand before him as if I were judged by the Judge of the Inquisicion Court. Imagine that I established the following dialogue with Judge Dave, answering the questions he is asking in the song, omg, what a great heresy !!!
Eu: Sim, tinha algo a esconder Sr. Dr. Juiz!
Eu: Não sei mentir Sr. Dr. Juiz!

Judge Dave: Marisa, You had something to hide. Should have hidden it, shouldn't you?
Me: Yes, there was something to hide Your Honour!
Judge Dave: Now you're not satisfied with what you're being put through?
Me: I've always been a fighter Your Honour, to the limit of my strenght!
Judge Dave: It's just time to pay the price Marisa, for not listening to advice and deciding in your youth on the Policy of Truth
Me: Your Honour, my mistakes make me laugh, they were kid's little jokes, okay I made a big mistake a long time ago but I consider myself a victim of circumstances, I was caught in a trap. But I'm a human being, I'm not perfect, we all make mistakes Your Honour!
Judge Dave: Things could be different now, Marisa, your life could be much more civilized. You will always wonder how it could have been if you'd only lied
Me: I'm a terrible liar Your Honour!

Judge Dave: Marisa, It's too late to change events, it's time to face the consequence, for delivering THE PROOF In the Policy of Truth
Me: Yes Your Honour THE PROOF is my Stepping  Stones! The easy and fast paths are devoid of content.
Judge Dave: Now Marisa  you're standing there tongue tied, you'd better learn your lesson well, hide what you have to hide and tell what you have to tell!
Me: You are quite right Your Honour, I learned my lesson very well so I opened every door to what I have to tell and so I'm here blogging again!
Judge Dave: Marisa, you'll see your problems multiplied, if you continually decide, to faithfully pursue, the Policy of Truth!
Me: Yes, Your Honour I have seen my problems multiplied in the hospitals where I have been. And, I just followed the Policy of Truth, nor do I want to imagine the Paths of those who follow the Policy of Lie.

Judge Dave: Marisa's sentence will be:Never again is what you swore the time before!
Me: Your Honour I just have to give you the Mona Lisa smile!
I just unveiled the secret of the Mona Lisa's enigmatic smile, shhhh no one hears us, she was judged at the Inquisition Court too, by Judge Dave Gahan who is the Depeche Mode lead singer in a part-time job, omg another heresy !!!!

Now you will see and read the message of the song in the video, I tell you this is an approach to a song lyric totally out of the box and that is how it has to be understood!

Depeche Mode - Policy of Truth

Respondam a vocês próprios!!

💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔

The great Portuguese example that I have to give of a person who followed the Policy of Lie is Renato Seabra, for those who doesn't know his history, I make a summary. Renato dreamed of being a model and succeed in the catwalks, to achieve this, he got involved with a gay journalist very well related and well connected in fashion world, but Renato was not gay and, thus "lied" to himself and maintained a love affair with this journalist, one day in a hotel room in NY he had an attack, forgive me the expression, but it's the analysis that I make to the case, he had a disgust of himself and savagely murdered his lover, cutting his penis during the attack, he was judged and sentenced to life imprisonment, serving time in a high-security prison in the United States, he will hardly setting foot in Portugal again. Now I ask you a question, do you follow the Policy of Lie or Truth? Answer to yourselves !!

Dedicated to my dear Aunt Manuela Eulálio
who recently and suddenly left this world.
She was the only person in my family who commented on this blog,
whom I affectionately treated as "titi".

And because I liked it so much,
I loved to be called that way if one day I had nephews,
and that's the way they call me!!
See you soon... "titi"!

Look nº400 - Jumping off the Bandwagon!

I have this photos in the archive for a long time, so long, that I deleted them and had to recover them to the recycling, it happens! Let's say that for a long time I wanted to speak in the Portuguese rural world, and when I came across this scenario I found it excellent. Let's say the straw is very photogenic (oh let me laugh and you'll see why). I had to be quick taking the photos, surely these bales would not be there for a long time at my disposal !!

This inspire me to speak about the Portuguese countryside and how he is mortally wounded! It's a fact that young people in Portugal are abandoning it and all the activities it involves seduced by the rather (apparently) most appealing lights of the city. They leave the houses, the relatives and hypnotized by the city life end up boxed in buildings.

All this to tell you a story of when I lived in Coimbra. For those who know Coimbra I lived in the building that is behind the Girassolum Shopping Center, in 1990. It was one of the best areas to live in Coimbra, at the time the Shopping mall was the most cosmopolitan place in the city. I remember the excellent movie theater and how comfortable the chairs were. The last movies that I remember seeing, were The Doors (I hate it!!) and Silence of the Lambs, I saw it twice the first time I saw it was in the front row, I don't know if you saw the movie, but the close up of Hannibal Lecter's face on Clarice, it was like he was talking to me !!

But if the shopping mall was fun, living in the building the fun was another !! The building have about 12 floors, I lived in the first, I never met a neighbor, because I didn't use the elevator and many people lived there !! But the most hilarious of living in a building, I don't know if in other buildings this happens, I believe that in buildings of more recent construction this doesn't happen, it was this!!

At night when was all silent (this is not at all what you are thinking of, sinful minds) and someone in the 12th, 11th, 10th, 9th, 8th, 7th, 6th, 5th floors, decided to go to the bathroom and did what is natural for us to do when we go there, and flushing, we heard, as I shall say, the shit falling down the building pipes, and when it fell down made that typical noise of something that had just sprayed on the floor. It was a demonic noise, every night the shit falling down through the pipes and over and over again. No please!!

I don't really miss living in a building. I assume I'm a rural girl who occasionally likes to go to the city and so I have an excellent excuse to drive the car. I'd much rather be awakened by the sound of the birds in my garden. That's music to my ears !!
And you, do you live in buildings? Do you also have hilarious stories to tell? Tell me everything in the comments, I'll love to read !!

Look nº 399 - Is Anyone Listening?

Vamos ver o que escondem as águas profundas do video do último post, aqui.

Não falem. Não digam nada. Não digam que lamentam. Não digam, desculpa-me.

Let's see what the deep waters hide, of the video of the last post, here.

Don't talk. Don't speak. Don't say you're sorry. Don't say forgive me. I already know the result of my genetic study. As I was more or less prepared for the result, the study was only the scientific confirmation of my diagnosis. A year and a half to have a diagnosis. I have a serious illness.

Can you imagine what it is one and a half year in hospitals, in endless appointments, in an endless number of blood tests always with negative results, inconclusive examinations, biopsies of everything that you can imagine. One and a half year. I went through everything. By waiting lists. Always the waiting lists for everything. By strikes. By machines that failed on the day of the exams. By exams requets that were lost in the clinical secretariat. For unmarked appointments without prior notice. One and a half year.

Because I was being followed in two different hospitals and in different cities, I had to split up in two, so that the information would reach all the doctors who accompanied me, because there was no integrated computer system between them that would allow the doctors to communicate with each other . I was the patient and the e-mail that was missing, in a take & bring test results and examinations results. One and a half year. Don't talk. Don't speak. Don't say you're sorry.

But some day, any politician or his relative in this country, would have been waiting for a diagnosis for a year and a half? But would he ever be on a waiting list? In a year and a half my illness has evolved and destroyed! This body that you are seeing is not a healthy body. It's a sick body. As I still not able to talk about my illness, what I can say is that it's a known disease but a rare type. Doctors have never had a case like mine, it's what's called a case study. It's a disease that without treatment kills me.

O Porto sempre me ajudou a viver.

The specialists of this disease are in the city of Oporto (about 200Km from my city) and its there now that I will be accompanied. But once again I have to wait and the disease continues in its process of destruction. Don't talk. Don't speak. Don't say you're sorry. It's very likely that I'll start taking photos in the Oporto. I hope to tell you good stories. In fact, this is the third time that my life crosses with Oporto. Oporto has always helped me living. I hope that it give me back my life in the form of a treatment.

There are two types of treatment for my disease, both are expensive to the Portuguese State, I will probably have to do both. I'll be quieter if I know that you'd rather have your tax money used to save me than to save a bank from bankruptcy. Now you can talk. You can speak anything to cheer me up.
Não digam desculpa-me.

During a certain election campaign, the person who was with me told me: "Look Marisa there goes, Manuel Alegre (portuguese politician), do you want to go kiss him?" I refused. This would be one of those that would pass me on any list, this and everyone else of his kind! A year and a half waiting for a diagnosis. Don't talk. Don't speak. I've heard all your lies and all your stories I've heard it all before. Don't say forgive me. Don't say you're sorry,  that I will send you all f@ck off!

I leave you the video of Madonna, whose lyrics inspired this text. Make an up-grade of the international characters for the current characters of the Portuguese reality, but also you can make that same up-grade for the international scene that my message is the same. Because I am Madonna and I can do everything in Portugal !!!

How To Do a Blog Post!

How to do a blog post on Marisas's Closet
  •   Choose a topic. It may be a story of my life, it can be a song inspiration. It can be a topic of national or international news, whatever.

  •  Choose the look that complements the post topic and completes it visually. It presumes the search to sites of online stores. If the post is sponsored by a brand, choose the clothing that best serves it. Or look in my wardrobe for something I already have and that makes sense for that story I want to tell.

  •  Search about the topic. Know details, what are the others opinions. Think what I can add to what was said. Or simply give my opinion, even knowing that people may not share it, but this is my opinion space, so I am not required to write what others like to read.
  • Escrever a história.
  •  Write the story. Believe me many stories were written while I waited for many medical appointments. I remember an appointment that I waited so much for the doctor that I wrote the text for 3 posts, it was the Female Web Summit, the Body Acceptance end the One Rule.. I always carry notebooks in my bag to make notes of ideas that I have, things I see and that I may have  interest in writing about them.

  •  Once you have the story, choose the place to photograph. Sometimes it's not easy to find. Often we need permission to shoot in certain places. We have to be public relations, and wait for the bureaucracy. When the response takes time we must  have a plan B. For example the photos of the phone booth took months until I found the booth I photographed, in fact I had already photographed in a booth in Coimbra, but I didn't like the photos, so I decided to wait for a better alternative . Sometimes we have the ideal place but it's impossible to photograph it. I give an example, one day I was sitting on the entrance floor of the HUC hospital in Coimbra and I was making comments on blogs and suddenly I look up forward and I see 4 pay phones on the wall, I look at it and I said: "This is the place of my story!" Of course I had to abandon this idea, it was impossible for me to do a photo shoot inside a hospital !! Until one day I passed through Leiria and saw this reading booth. Icing on the cake!! For the photos that I present tomorrow, I had to consult the tide table, because I needed to have a low water coinciding with the sunset, I have to wait for 3 weeks for that to happen, and big problem I would have the low water but would not have the sunset, because the weather in the previous days was always cloudy, but for my great luck I was successful, great !!

  • Fotografar.
  • The photo shooting. Knowing what expressions I want to make, whether it's a laughing matter or a serious subject, body language is very important, because through it I can send messages. This is for those who are more attentive !!

  •  Once you have the photos you need to edit them. Very important, each story has its own color and intensity. You have to do what I call the its dramatization. It is important to master the editing programs, explore all its possibilities, adding visual value to the story.
  •   Complement the post with music or with some video about the topic. Usually the songs that I put are songs that I know, but when I don't remember any song, I search songs about that topic. On Facebook we can also find interesting topics and videos.

  •  Assemble the text and photos on the blog platform. I do this, I write the whole text, then I break the text into paragraphs and insert the photos that best correspond to the text.
  •  Ler o texto em voz alta para ver se me soa bem.
  • Read the text aloud to see if it sounds good to me.
  •  Agendar a publicação.
  •  Schedule the publication.
  •  One tip, my posts you have to read them with glasses, but not some glasses, they have to have special lenses, to see what is invisible to the eyes.
